The combination of Off and Win 8 is really creating a lot of problems. But you seemed to have run fixit and also manually removed all traces of both and Maybe you could try installing in a new windows admin user account and see how it goes.

Choose where you want to search below Search Search the Community. Search the community and support articles Install, redeem, activate Microsoft and Office Search Community member.

I am incredibly frustrated. Whenever I go to install Microsoft Office , I receive the error "Microsoft Office encountered an error during setup.

I have had two Microsoft technicians log in to my computer to address the issue. Both were unsuccessful. I've run the various "Fix its" with absolutely no results. I've edited the registry, renamed and deleted the Microsoft Help folder, and deleted all temp files with no results. I've browsed the forums, tried the fixes, and nothing. I previously had Microsoft Office installed on my machine.

One day it stopped working, unexpectedly, and prompted me to repair it in Control Panel. When I went to repair it via the installer, it would fail. I also could not uninstall it. I had to use a Microsoft "Fix it" to uninstall Office I then deleted all trace folders, etc. Since then, I have not been able to install Office My computer is far above the system requirements, I am running Windows 8, and used to run Office programs just fine.

If your OS is 32 bit, download x86 version of MS office If it is 64 bit, download x64 version of MS office. I too had this problem.

My computer was 32 bit according to system information but I installed 64 bit version and it worked fine. This site in other languages x.
